Some streets near the Playhouse will be closed off for the Festival, so look for signage for parking and plan to arrive early for your chosen event. There’s an abundance of food choices available within a two-block radius of the Playhouse.
A full day OF FREE events AT SIERRA MADRE PLAYHOUSE to celebrate the annual WISTARIA FESTIVAL!
For one Sunday each year, the City of Sierra Madre celebrates a local landmark with a Festival highlighting its Wistaria Vine, the largest blooming vine in the world.
Shuttles will carry passengers from downtown Sierra Madre to the historic vine from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 18. There is a fee charged for the shuttles, and more
information about that can be found at www.sierramadrechamber.com/events
Meanwhile, Sierra Madre Playhouse is planning a full day of FREE events to enjoy at the venue.
Inside the Playhouse, starting at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 5:00 p.m.: Silent movies all day long!
In front of the Playhouse, on our Sidewalk Stage:
10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Jane Fuller, singer/songwriter/guitarist combines jazz-
inflected pop with expressive lyrics.
11:00 a.m.- Noon. Michelle Bloom and Co. Big Backyard. Original songs inspired
by the music of the 1970s, classic children’s books, and warm campfires.
Noon- 1:00 p.m. Barry Schwam & Co. Have you ever heard music played on a
Theremin?
1:00-2:00 p.m. Alison Kalmus Theater Academy. Advanced Performance
Students of the Academy will perform excerpts of the musical coming in late summer to
the Playhouse, Peter and the Starcatcher.
2:00-3:00 p.m. Michelle Bloom and Co. Big Backyard.
3:00- 4:00 p.m. Alison Kalmus Theater Academy.
4:00- 5:00 p.m. Jane Fuller, guitarist Mike Gallegos , and Barry Schwam.
5:00 p.m. Prize drawings! Winners need not be present to win. Prizes include
tickets to upcoming shows and other fun stuff, all worth winning.
