Expect traditional Filipino folk dance with a lot of color and energy. Malaya is a Los Angeles company that performs Filipino folk dance and blends it with theater. Its name means "to be free" in Tagalog, and the dances draw from everyday life in the Philippines.

If you've never seen this kind of dance live, it's a joyful place to start. Bring a friend who's curious about Filipino culture.
