Expect to be moved. This is a film that can still astonish a room full of people.

A husband's betrayal puts a farm couple's marriage at risk, and one long day in the city changes how they see each other. Director F.W. Murnau tells the story almost entirely in pictures, with very few title cards, so it's an easy way in even if you've never seen a silent film. Janet Gaynor and George O'Brien star. Piano accompaniment by Larry Garf, with a discussion from Rich Procter.

It was made to be seen the way you'll see it here: on a big screen, with live music, surrounded by people feeling the same thing.

Bring someone you love.
