At Divina's Barangay & Grill in Chula Vista, the drag show is where Libertad gets to be all of himself.

Libertad is Mexi-Pino, Mexican and Filipino American, and he's learning to embrace every layer of who he is. The Butterfly of Chula Vista is a heartfelt, fast-paced comedy about family duty, identity, and acceptance, performed by six actors.

Commissioned by San Diego Rep and developed in readings in San Diego and Los Angeles, it's the new play from Giovanni Ortega, the playwright behind Allos and Criers for Hire.
