A killer called the Avenger is stalking London, and a mysterious new tenant at a boardinghouse draws suspicion. Ivor Novello plays the lodger, whose behavior could mean guilt or something else entirely. Piano accompaniment by Larry Garf, with a discussion from Rich Procter.

Shadows and framing do much of the work, and spotting the early Hitchcock touches is half the fun.
