Expect strings and gongs sharing one room. Violinist Jeff Gauthier and cellist Maggie Parkins, known as The Smudges, play alongside Gamelan Light Streams, a group that plays gamelan, the bronze percussion orchestra from Indonesia. The music moves between bowed strings and gongs, and video projections add a visual layer.

It's an evening about how sounds from different traditions can share a space. If you like experimental music or have never heard gamelan, bring a curious friend.
