Andrew Anderson

Andrew Anderson plays piano and piano shaped objects. Focusing on experimental music, he has premiered works by Matt Sargent, Kyle Gann, Ted Hearne, Pamela Madsen, and Ben Richter. In 2021 he was chosen as a Piano Spheres Emerging Artist, and has performed across the United States and some parts of Europe. Andrew is also a founding member of the new-music piano trio House on Fire, which focuses on commissioning new works for unorthodox instrumentations. Their latest album Dissolution Seedlings was released in 2025 on Sawyer Editions, and the group performs regularly across Southern California. Andrew attended the University of California, Irvine (BMus, 2017), and the California Institute of the Arts (MFA, 2019). His primary teachers have been Nina Scolnik and Vicki Ray. Andrew is currently on staff at Moorpark College, CSUDH, YOLA, and the National Children’s Chorus.
