Comedy at the Playhouse is a monthly series of comedy shows, bringing some of the best comedians working today to your favorite historic theater.

Your Host Brendan Scannell: Brendan Scannell is an actor, writer, and comedian known for his starring role in the Netflix dark comedy series Bonding, for which he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. He previously co-starred in Heathers, Paramount’s TV adaptation of the cult classic film. He also has appeared twice on After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson, Apple TV’s Loot, the FX anthology series The Premise, Diary of a Future President, and co-starred in the feature film Bromates on Hulu opposite Lil Rel Howery and Snoop Dogg. As a comedian, he was a New Face of Standup at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and has headlined shows at NY Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest and Netflix is a Joke.

Co-Headlining the evening: Laurie Kilmartin is stand up comedian and an Emmy-nominated, WGA award-winning comedy writer, currently writing for Jimmy Kimmel Live! Laurie was a staff writer for all 11 years of CONAN on TBS, and has performed standup on CONAN, Late Late Show w/James Corden, and Comedy Central. She was a Top 10 finalist on season 9 of NBC's Last Comic Standing, and has been a guest on Marc Maron's WTF 3 times. She is the author of Dead People Sck, a comedic memoir about grief, and Shitty Mom- NY Times bestselling comedy about parenting. Her special 45 Jokes About My Dead Dad, was named Vulture 's Top Ten Comedy Specials of 2016. In 2022, she was a guest in the “Comedy” episode of Hillary Clinton’s 2022 Apple TV series Gutsy. Her latest special “Cis Woke Grief Slut,” is on Hulu.

Also headlining: Andrea Jin is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer born in Shanghai, currently based in Los Angeles. She made her late night TV debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden October of 2022. She was selected as New Face at Just for Laugh’s Montreal Festival in 2021 and again as part of Patton Oswalt's gala at Montreal the following year. She was also featured on Vulture's Comedians You Should Know List of 2023 on The New York Times. Andrea was a staff writer on Andy Samberg's show at Comedy Central (Digman!). She has performed at Moontower Comedy Festival, JFL Northwest, JFL Toronto, SiriusXM’s Top Comic, Seattle International Comedy Competition, CBC’s The Debaters, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Her writing has been featured on Vice, Vulture, and CBC Comedy among other publications. You can hear her on JFL’s Best of the West Comedy Album and on her solo Juno Award winning comedy album 'Grandma's Girl'.
